All Monster Molds Finished for Blood Throne!

Another big milestone accomplished in the process of bringing Blood Throne into production. We have finished the molds for the monster models.

The molds are the hardest and most expensive part of the process in making a game like Blood Throne, and we have finished the production molds for all of the heroes and now all of the monsters are done! The last big part of that process is the expansion hero molds which are are currently finalizing the designs for to prepare for machining of those molds.

Get Blood Throne Here!

The models are PVC plastic, which is slightly softer than HIPS plastic (a very hard plastic that has sharper edges, but is much less forgiving in the casting process and requires assembly). The benefit of PVC is that it requires less complex molds and making it realistic to provide assembled models which all of the models in Blood Throne are pre-assembled (with one, possible and minor exception which we will cover in a future update to get community feedback on).

In the past, PVC models could look a bit soft in the details but these new generation PVC models are fantastic! The detail is great and the slight elasticity the models have means they are quite durable in the instance you drop one, etc. We think gamers will be thrilled to get their hands on these, the end result exceeded our expectations! Below are the mass production models, meaning these are what will be in the box! The quality far exceeds most board games, the only thing we have seen that is close are either HIPS plastic or resin, both of which require a significant amount of work to prep and assemble the models whereas ours come ready to play!

The Heroes are all in light grey and the monsters in dark grey to make it easy to differentiate between the types of models. We stuck with grey as it shows the details of the models best. We had considered red for the monsters but you miss a lot of the fantastic little details in that tone. Also, above is just one of each monster, the actual box will come with multiples of the lower tier monsters so the actual model count is quite a bit higher than in the picture above.

As you can see, the detail is fantastic and again, no assembly required! This guy is nasty tier 3 monster which we will explain in more depth as we go but he is quite annoying to face on the table as he guards treasure and objectives, making it difficult for the heroes to achieve their ends in a scenario!

And below some shots of the heroes, we posted these already but just to have it all in one place, here you are!
