Canthus

CHARACTER BIO

To understand the void of the individual, one must know the whole, and Canthus strives to ensure the defense of that whole.  A human host for the Vespiary, Canthus remembers what it was like to be alone, to only see one’s own self as a blade of grass rather than the roots. In shame, he remembers his past crimes, his sins born of the flawed pursuit of his own individual will.

He was captured, beaten, near dead, and then sold to the Vespiar. Now, after bonding with one, he sees the truth: unity is strength, and the whole is the purpose.  Armed and Armored like the biological perfection of the insect, Canthus understands his role well: he is a titan on the battlefield, an armored redoubt that shrugs off the blows of his enemies while slashing them apart with his blade.  He shelters his weaker allies, for they have their part to play, and there is no room for selfishness or self-preservation.

His role is to bear the brunt of war and to inflict terrible losses, and that is all.  When not in battle assuming his role, he is quick to proselytize the greatness of the Vespiar. Because he has been alone, because he has transgressed, he now hopes to help others find their way to unity, willingly of course, but that is certainly a flexible word.
